Mrs. Madonna Smith
Greetings Middleton Families!
My name is Madonna Smith and I am proud to be joining the kindergarten team and become a Heights Elementary Hawk!
Kindergarten is a special time for children. It’s the first step in a new learning journey, and I love being part of their adventure. I have a passion for children, all children, and I am honored to work alongside and support them as they develop their academic, social, playful, compassionate selves.
I have been teaching for 22 years. I was inspired to become a teacher by my daughter’s kindergarten teacher many years ago. She was magical and it has always been one of my goals to create the same kind of positive experiences for my students and their families as she did for us. I have had the opportunity to teach all different grade levels (K-5) as well as special education, Title 1, and instructional coaching. I’m often asked which was my favorite, and all I know is that, every year, I seem to have the most amazing class, so I don’t ever have an answer…I’ve loved them all! I received my teaching credential from California State University San Marcos, and my Graduate Degree from NNU. I love to learn, so you will always catch me reading up on the latest educational research, racing off to a class, or learning how to do something new. My family and I moved to Idaho in 2001 from San Diego, California. It was a huge move for our family, but a move we have yet to regret because we love Idaho! My three beautiful daughters are now grown and I am now the lucky Nana to four grandchildren.
I am looking forward to this upcoming school year, and I can’t wait to get to know your child and begin our kindergarten adventure!
