Degrees and Certifications:
Mrs. Jelena Maxwell
Hello! My name is Jelena Maxwell and I have been a teacher for 13 years! After graduating from the University of Montana, I moved to Idaho to pursue my dream of teaching. I taught for 4 years in Jerome before falling in love with the quaint town of Middleton, where I have taught 3rd grade for 10 years. I knew from a very young age that I wanted to become a teacher and it continues to be my passion in life.
My goal as a teacher is to nourish a lifelong love of learning in all of my students and to help them find pride in their unique strengths and accomplishments. Building relationships and sparking curiosity through inquiry and hands-on experiences are my strengths. My own love of learning extends beyond the classroom walls as I continue to seek knowledge and expertise in my profession. I had the wonderful opportunity to work with the Boise State Writing Project as both a participant and a teaching consultant, and have been able to mentor other teachers and lead professional development for schools in Idaho. Recently, I also became an Idaho Core Teacher Leader and have loved serving as a thinking partner in my district.
My husband is also a teacher and coach in Middleton, and together we have two young children and a spunky Golden Retriever named Charlie. We love spending time outdoors hiking, camping, bike riding, golfing, and being active. We love our Idahome.
