Mrs. Kelly Stauffer

My name is Kelly Stauffer and I am an instructor at Middleton High School, where I teach both health and physical education classes. As a dual-credit professor and adjunct professor for the past six years for the College of Western Idaho, I have been able to incorporate additional components of the learning process into my classroom.

I have been teaching Health/Physical Education for the past 15 years and have acquired a vast array of knowledge in that particular field. My main content area is focused on high school level in which I attempt to engage each student by teaching them the main aspects of health/wellness and physical education and how they can apply it to their everyday lives. My personal passion is based on giving others the tools that they need in order to live a long, healthy, and enjoyable life.

I have earned a BS degree in Physical Education/Health K-12 from Boise State University, which involved basic human anatomy and physiology, nutrition, athletic training and injury prevention, personal health, first aid and CPR, and many other education based courses. Most recently I also earned an MS in Athletic Coaching and Administration from Northcentral University. In addition to base curriculums that I have designed, I also have had many years’ experience with professional development courses that I incorporate into my unit/lesson planning.

These experiences have played a crucial role in my teaching. I believe that an educator needs to stay informed and up-to-date about the subject matter that they are teaching, especially in the field of health education. In addition to my bachelor’s and master’s degrees, I have successfully completed seventy-two continuing education credits I have had the opportunity to enroll in 2 Activity Based Health Education courses, one Educational Research course, and many others that pertain to the health and physical education field.
